Two very user friendly and popular apps can be downloaded from the app store to support children’s Welsh language development.

Staying at home for a prolonged period can be difficult, frustrating and lonely. Remember to take care of your mind as well as your body and seek support if you need it. Stay in touch with family and friends over the phone and internet.
Children also need to take care of their wellbeing as they will miss their routines, school and being surrounded by their friends.

Small Paul is a fantastic story to help younger children make sense of things during this difficult time.
Staying active is very important and can have a positive impact on our emotions. If you and your child feel well enough you can take part in light exercise within your home or garden.

Sport Pembrokeshire – New Digital Learning Zone coming soon!!
In light of the current Covid19 situation, Sport Pembrokeshire (PCC’s Sports Development Service) are working hard to create a secure digital learning platform for all learners to access from home during school closures.
The ‘Sport Pembrokeshire Learning Zone’ will include links to a variety of sport and physical activity resources which will hopefully encourage pupils to be physically active at home.
I’m hoping to be able to share a link with you next week so that you can proactively share with pupils and parents.

Online safety

The internet will be an important tool in supporting your child, keeping informed and making contact with others. Ensuring your child is safe online is key.

‘Arguing with your kids to do work is not what anyone needs right now. Instead, cuddle up together and read, read, read. Take turns reading. Read them your favourite novel (yes you can read a novel to small children). Do a puzzle. Build a fort. Bake. Watch TV together. Paint. Get out the lego and build together. Set up a tent in your living room and camp out. Look at photos of when you were a kid. In other words…Don’t stress about them forgetting. Don’t stress about homeschooling them. Just spend time together. Your kids won’t learn much if they are feeling stressed. Though this is a scary time, it could very well be a time they remember as the best time in their life.’
